Easter treat for children

The children enjoy a joy ride at their Easter party.

The centre is situated in the Zenzele community, an informal settlement that lies between Putfontein and Daveyton.

The children were treated to a fabulous Easter party at the Bokkie Park, in Boksburg.

Each year they are treated to a special Easter party; it is one of the few days of the year they get to escape their dismal surroundings.

The centre cares for 210 disadvantaged children, aged from six months to six years.

A total of 20 per cent of the youngsters have been orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Oliver’s House is actively involved in Nomthandazo Children’s Care Centre’s education, training, skills development, job creation and early childhood development.

“It is always great to see their smiles and hear their laughter,” said a spokesperson for Oliver’s House.

“We thank our many sponsors and volunteers for their overwhelming support on the day.”
