Nevhuhulwi wants to work with the community to fight crime

Col Stanley Nevhuhulwi is the new station commander at Actonville Police Station, he took over from the previous station commander Col Friedl Jonck.

Nevhuhulwi took over from Col Friedl Jonck on December 12, as the station commander of the Actonville Police Station.

Jonck is now the station commander at Brakpan SAPS.

Nevhuhulwi has been serving in the SAPS for 30 years; he began his career at the age of 20.

The 51-year-old said he will improve the partnership between the community and police, and decrease the crime rate.

“It is important to have a relationship with the community, as it helps to fight crime together,” said Nevhuhulwi.

Nevhuhulwi said he will do his utmost to reduce crime in the precinct.

He was first placed at the Soweto Police Station after his training in 1986.

From there he moved to the New Canada Police Station as a sergeant before becoming a warrant officer at Protea Glen SAPS.

In 2012, he was recognised as the best Vispol commander for the Katlehong cluster.

He has been serving as the head of Vispol at the Katlehong SAPS until recently.

Nevhuhulwi urged residents to enjoy their festive season responsibly, while respecting other people.
