Patrollers tied-up during armed robbery

The incident occurred at about 10pm.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said two female community patrollers were at the school when they were approached by eight men and one female.

“One of the men was armed and threatened the patrollers while the other men tied them up with shoelaces,” said Ramaube.

“The alleged robbers then went to the principal’s office and broke the security door to gain entry.”

They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, a laptop and broke the cameras at the principal’s office.

The two patrollers were found at the school this morning (November 13) at about 5.20am by the patrollers who were on the morning duty, said Ramaube.

No arrests have been made and the two patrollers sustained minor injuries.

Police are investigating.
