Man arrested for possession of drugs

A man was arrested in Actonville on November 29.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, said the arrest took place at the suspect’s place of residence in Moodley Street at about 4.45am.

“Twenty-eight Mandrax tablets, 22 crystal methamphetamine packets and 126g of dagga, altogether valued at approximately R2 800 on the streets, was seized,” said Kgasago.

“Cash amounting to R400, which is suspected to be proceeds from the illicit trade, was also confiscated.”

The man was detained at the Actonville Police Station on a charge of possession and dealing in illicit substances.

He is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
