I would appreciate the employees mentioned below receiving the recognition they deserve for the service I received from the building department at Ekurhuleni, Benoni.
Due to my proposed building alterations, I was required to liaise with the roads, water and electricity departments as well as the planning and plan-approval departments.
Each of the employees I had the pleasure of liaising with was efficient and friendly.
However, two departments went beyond the call of duty.
The plans approval department phoned me to tell me that my plans were ready for collection.
I was extremely grateful, as this service is not what I’ve come to expect from Ekurhuleni from my past dealings with the Council.
First prize goes to Yolanda Nzuza from the planning department.
She was an absolute darling to deal with.
Her knowledge, friendliness and efficiency is an example to the whole of the Ekurhuleni Council to follow.
Having a positive attitude about my dealings with Ekurhuleni, I was blown away by her returning a missed call to her office number.
She phoned me stating that she’d noticed a missed call on her phone.
Where have you ever heard of service like this from the Council?
It’s small actions like this that go a long way in making the residents of Benoni have a positive view of the people running their town.
Based on the service I received, I’d rate the departments 8/10.
The process from start to finish could have been quicker.
If this could improve, I’d change my rating to 10/10.
